The NSW First Home Owner Grant scheme helps eligible first home owners to purchase a new home or build their new home by offering a $10,000* grant.The Scheme applies to new homes only.

You can apply directly through the Office of State Revenue or if you require the funds to assist with paying for your new home, then you should make the application through your preferred financial institution.
The Office of State Revenue has very specific criteria that you need to meet to ensure you are eligible for the First Home Owner Grant. At time of writing, some of the criteria included:

If you make your application through your financial institution the funds will be available for the first progress payment for a building contract, or at settlement for a completed home. If you apply directly to the OSR the grant may not be available until after completion and your name is registered on the certificate of title.
